PHILADELPHIA (March 1, 2023)- The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that applications are now being accepted for Next Shift: Mentoring the Next Generation of Female Leaders. The new program, which will debut on March 21 during the Flyers home game against the Florida Panthers, will pair local girls and young women, ages 14-22, with different female Flyers leaders and executives and provide them with a behind-the-scenes look at the different roles they play on a Flyers gameday.

Participating team leaders and executives - all the way up to Spectacor Sports and Entertainment CEO Valerie Camillo - come from the marketing, communications, game presentation, sales, broadcast, and community relations departments on both the hockey and business operations sides of the organization. Participants will spend time with the team's female leaders, get a firsthand look at careers they may want to pursue, and make meaningful connections with members of the front office. This new program is part of the organization's celebration of Women's History Month and year-round efforts to promote and foster female talent in the front office.
"We have so many talented women in our organization who are integral to making each and every game night a success, so this program is a great opportunity to show local girls and young women that they can succeed at the highest levels of the sports and entertainment industry" said Valerie Camillo, President and CEO of Spectacor Sports and Entertainment. "As we begin Women's History Month, we want to celebrate everything that women have achieved in our game and in our industry, but it's just as important to look the future and support the next shift of female leaders in hockey and all throughout sports."

Applicants who are selected for the program will receive four tickets to the game, which can be used by family and friends, receive an official working credential for the game, and attend a welcome reception where they will meet with other members of the program and the full group of Flyers female leaders.

Parents of children between the ages of 14 and 17 who are interested in the program are invited to apply for their child. Those 18 and older are able to apply on their own behalf. All applications must be submitted by filling out the form
