Ducks to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage by hosting Try Hockey for Free Day on Sunday, November 5th at The Rinks – KHS ICE

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage, the Anaheim Ducks & The Rinks will host a Try Hockey for Free Day on Sunday, November 5th, at The Rinks – KHS ICE!

“Our company Mission, Vision and Values compel us to be a reflection of the community we serve, one rich in diversity and diverse languages,” said Jason Cooper, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging for OCVibe. “Taking the steps to provide programming opportunities to future players through these bilingual sessions, and sessions celebrating heritage, gives us as an organization a chance to eliminate one more potential barrier of entry to the sport. Removing barriers of access to the game of hockey is essential to its growth, truly ensuring Hockey Is For Everyone.”

When asked about the importance of hosting these events, Kirstie Bender, Marketing Manager of Hockey Development for The Rinks, said “it really is about seeing other people like you on the ice. It means the world to kids when they see themselves in the people that they look up to, be it other players or coaches – and these events make that happen.” Families can register for the event by following the link at the bottom of this page. Try Hockey for Free offers boys and girls the chance to learn to play the game of hockey during a supervised session. Participants will receive instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. Participants will be provided with skates, shoulder and elbow pads, shin guards, a helmet, hockey pants, gloves and a jersey for the one-hour session.

THE RINKS – KHS ICE is located at 1000 E Cerritos Ave, Anaheim, CA.
