Who are the Power Players?

The Power Players are a high-energy promotional team that supports the Ducks in-game entertainment presentation during home games and promotes the Ducks at community events. The primary responsibilities of the Power Players are to generate excitement and engagement with fans. Additional responsibilities can include ice skating during home games to clean the ice surface during media time-outs, assist with on-ice promotions and learning choreographed dances to perform during home games.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds and on camera
  • Physically fit/athletic
  • Flexible schedule - available to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Passionate about the Anaheim Ducks

What is the difference between the Ice Crew and the Power Players?

The Power Players are a high-energy promotional team that assist the Ducks in-game entertainment presentation during home games and promote the Ducks at community events. Some of the Power Players ice skate with the Ice Crew during home games, but it is not a requirement.

The Ice Crew is a team of skilled ice skaters who clean the ice surface during media time-outs and assist with on-ice promotions during Ducks home games. Occasionally the Ice Crew assist/ interact with fans for arena wide giveaways but do not participate in community events.

Is skating a requirement to be a Power Player?

No, we have Power Players that never skate or go on the ice during games.
If you are not interested in working on the ice during games, you can join us for the promotions part of the audition process that will take place at Great Park on July 20th at Noon.

What do the Power Players do during games?

We have two specific jobs for the Power Players on gameday. We have Power Players that work on the ice and Power Players that work off the ice. The Power Players that work on the ice are required to ice skate and work with the Ice Crew to clean the ice surface during media time-outs and assist with on-ice promotions. The Power Players that work off the ice interact with fans, assist with promotions on camera, pump up the crowd and preform choreographed dances.

What can I expect at auditions?

Ice Auditions (Ice Crew and Power Player candidates)

  • 9 am at Great Park, July 20th
  • Bring your skates (hockey skates preferred)
  • Bring a headshot (optional)
  • Skating auditions will take place at Rink 4 of Great Park Ice
  • Interview with judges
  • Each candidate will participate in skating drills noting overall skating ability

Promotional Auditions (Power Player candidates only)

  • Noon at Great Park Ice, July 20th
  • Bring a headshot, if you have one
  • Learn a dance to perform for the judges
  • Interview with judges
  • Group improv activities

What should I wear to auditions?

For the skating auditions please wear any of the following: black workout or warm-up style pants and a white or black shirt with a black jacket (optional).

For the promotional auditions please wear black workout style pants or shorts and a white or black shirt with athletic style tennis shoes.

Will I find out if I made the Power Players on July 1st?

No, you will be contacted after the auditions. Only select candidates will be asked to participate in the final step of the audition process, which is the formal interview.
