Answers to each question will be weighted as set forth in the Judging Criteria outlined in Section 7 below:

  1. Identify how your Nominee is connected with the U.S. military (a Veteran, Active Duty, military spouse, member of a military family, or patriotic supporter of military organizations).

  2. Describe how your Nominee is involved with ice hockey today and how your Nominee has been involved in ice hockey in the past (a youth coach, player, super fan).

The registration information and responses to the questions posed will be collectively referred to as your “Submission". By uploading your Submission, you agree that it conforms to the Guidelines, Permissions, and Content Restrictions (as defined below) and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify you if it believes that it fails to conform.

Guidelines:

  • The Submission must be in English; and
  • The Submission must not exceed character limits set forth within the promotional website.

Permissions: Important -- Entrant must have permission from the Nominee to enter them into the Contest. If requested, entrant or Nominee must be able to provide such permissions or proof in a form acceptable to Sponsor.

Content Restrictions:

  • The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;
  • The Submission must not disparage NFCU, the NHL Entities, or any other person or party;
  • The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, offensive, indecent, obscene, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
  • The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, genetic information, or age; and
  • The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of, or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where Submission is created.

Submissions generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. In the event of a dispute as to any Submission, Sponsor and Administrator will rely on the information submitted by the Nominator to register for this Contest. If any additional information provided is inconsistent with the information provided at registration for this Contest, Sponsor and/or Administrator may disqualify the Submission. Released Parties (as defined in Section 11, below) are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, incomplete, invalid, un-intelligible, garbled, delayed, or misdirected Submissions; all such Submissions will be void.

6. Use of Submissions: Uploading a Submission constitutes Nominator’s consent to give Sponsor and NHL Entities (and their respective designees) a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from and display such Submission in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including for promotional or marketing purposes. If requested, Nominator will sign any documentation that may be required for Sponsor, the NHL Entities, or their respective designees to make use of the non-exclusive rights entrant is granting to use the Submission. Uploading a Submission also constitutes Nominator’s understanding and consent for Sponsor to share the Submission with NFCU and the respective Judges (as defined below) for evaluation and scoring of the respective Submission.

7. Finalist Determination: After the Initial Submission Phase, a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor and NFCU and including representatives of both (“Judges”), will score the Submissions and select up to four (4) Nominees (herein “Finalists”) whose Submissions received the highest scores. Each Submission will receive a score based on a 100-point scale using the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”):

  • Submission demonstrates that the Nominee has made a positive impact in their community through a specific organization and/or cause (total of up to 50 points).
    • Up to 30 points awarded based on the quality of the Nominee’s community service efforts and results; and
    • Up to 20 points awarded based on whether the positive impact on the community is connected to (a) the military, (b) ice hockey, or (c) both the military and ice hockey. Highest scores will be awarded where the community effort is connected to both the military and ice hockey.
  • Submission demonstrates Nominee’s connection to the U. S. military (up to 25 points). Points will be awarded based on the following assessment:
    • Veteran or Active-Duty Nominee will receive 25 points;
    • Military Spouse will receive 20 points;
    • Military Family (parent, grandparent, sibling or adult child) will receive 15 Points;
    • Patriotic military supporter will receive 10 Points; and
  • Submission demonstrates the depth of Nominee’s involvement in ice hockey both historically and currently. (25 points).

In the event of a tie, the Submission that received the highest score for demonstrating that the Nominee has made a positive impact in their community, as determined by the Judges in their sole discretion, will be deemed the higher-scoring Submission from among the tied Submissions, and therefore that Submission’s Nominee will become a Finalist. Sponsor reserves the right to select fewer than four (4) Finalists, if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Submissions. Sponsor will not disclose judging scores.

8. Finalist Requirements and Grand Prize Winner Determination*:\* On approximately February 21, 2025, Sponsor or its designee will notify up to four (4) Nominators of the selected Submissions as well as the respective Finalists by email. Each Finalist will be required to complete and return a document to Sponsor within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt of the email notification that:

  • Confirms such Finalist meets eligibility requirements and agrees to these Official Rules, waives liability against all Released Parties, and allows for publicity of the content included in the Submission as well as any supplemental content provided by Finalist;
  • Agrees to one (1) full day of virtual or in-person interviews with Sponsor or its designee to provide information and content supporting such Finalist’s community impact and involvement with hockey. The interview will take place during the Finalist Submission Period on dates proposed by Sponsor. If the Finalist agrees, Sponsor may film the interview in-person at a mutually-agreed-upon location in Finalist’s hometown (“Prize Footage”). All Prize Footage will be owned by Sponsor and its designees.

If (a) a potential Finalist cannot be contacted, (b) a potential Finalist fails to agree to the above requirements within the required time period, or (c) a potential Finalist does not meet the eligibility criteria or comply with these Official Rules, then the potential Finalist forfeits their position as a Finalist. Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its discretion to disqualify any Nominee as the potential Finalist if the Nominator or Nominee has engaged in any behavior that is inconsistent with the brand images of the NHL Entities or NFCU or that otherwise could reflect unfavorably upon any of the foregoing, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. If a potential Finalist is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor may offer the Finalist position to another Nominee (that has not yet been selected as a Finalist) who is the subject of the Submission that received the next highest score using the Judging Criteria.

During the Finalist Submission Period, Finalists must participate in the interview outlined above and provide any supplemental information, photos and/or videos that supports their nomination (the “Finalist Submission”). The Judges will review the original nomination Submissions along with the Finalist Submissions to select the Grand Prize winner based on the same Judging Criteria and tie-breaking process listed in Section 7. The Finalist who receives the highest score will be the potential Grand Prize winner. The Finalist with the next highest score will be deemed the First Runner Up and the other Finalists will be deemed the Second Runners Up, respectively.

9. Winner Requirements: The potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by email on or after May 16, 2025 by a Sponsor representative and/or Administrator. The potential Grand Prize winner (or parent/legal guardian if a minor in their state of residence) will then be required to sign and return a Declaration of Compliance, Liability Waiver and, where not prohibited, a Publicity Release ("Declaration"), which must be received by Administrator within forty-eight (48) hours of the date/time notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to claim the prize. If the potential Grand Prize winner cannot be contacted, fails to execute and return the Declaration within the required time period, or does not comply with these Official Rules, potential Grand Prize winner forfeits the prize. If the potential Grand Prize winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize may be awarded to the First Runner Up Finalist, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Prize: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) (winner and one (1) guest) to attend one (1) 2025 Stanley Cup® Final game selected by Sponsor; and Sponsor will make a $30,000 donation to a charity selected by Grand Prize winner (from a list of charities provided by the NFCU).

  • Sponsor will determine the date and location of the game for which tickets will be offered and will provide Grand Prize winner with approximately forty-eight (48) hours’ notice regarding trip timing. Travel will be within the United States. If winner is unable to travel on short notice, winner forfeits the trip prize.

Travel companion must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents. Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. By traveling and attending the event, winner and winner’s travel companion voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Failure to comply with any required COVID-19 requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize or elements of the prize. Forfeiture of any aspect of the trip due to failure to meet COVID-19 requirements will not impact the value of the trip as reported on an IRS Form 1099. The NHL Entities and NFCU are not responsible if the 2025 Stanley Cup® Final game is postponed or cancelled. If in the judgment of Sponsor air travel is not required due to Grand Prize winner’s proximity to prize location, ground transportation will be substituted for round trip air travel at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or tickets. Actual value of travel prize may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination. Grand Prize winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value.

Prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize (or a component thereof) for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Grand Prize winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize acceptance, receipt and/or use.

Each of the other three (3) Finalists not selected as the Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to designate a charity from a list provided by NFCU. Sponsor will make a $10,000 donation to the charity selected by the First Runner Up and will donate $5,000 to each charity selected by each of the Second Runners Up.

12. 13. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, human error or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If terminated, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, determine the Finalists and/or Grand Prize winner from among all non-suspect, eligible Submissions received up to time of such action using the judging procedure outlined above. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Submission process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner and void all associated Submissions. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including attorneys’ fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

14. Limitations of Liability: Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (b) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (c) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Submission process or the Contest; (d) printing, typographical, technical, computer, network or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest, the uploading, the processing or judging of Submissions, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials; (e) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (f) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or delivery, receipt, use or misuse of any prize (including any travel/lodging/activity related thereto).
