The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today the club's 23-man opening day roster for the 2017-18 NHL season. The club's roster includes 14 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders.

On Tuesday, the club loaned defencemen Timothy Liljegren and Calle Rosen to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Defenceman Roman Polak has been released from his professional tryout contract, but will continue to practice with the Maple Leafs.
The Maple Leafs open their regular season schedule on Wednesday, October 4 when they visit the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m. EST. Toronto will then return home to host the New York Rangers at Air Canada Centre on Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m. EST for the club's home opener.
