The 33-year-old center did not play last season because of chronic immune response syndrome. There is no timetable for his return, but the Blackhawks captain is expected to play at some point this season.
"With what he's gone through, we don't know where it's going to be," general manager Stan Bowman said Aug. 2. "So here we are today, things are looking good, and that's our thought moving forward."

But how big of a threat he is depends on how ready he is, having last played Aug. 18, 2020, when the Blackhawks were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of the best-of-7 Western Conference First Round.
