Marchand has 3 points in a 5-2 win over Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Brad Marchand had three assists for the Boston Bruins, who ended the Minnesota Wild's 14-game point streak with a 5-2 win at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday.

It was the Wild's first regulation loss since Feb. 15.
"Usually when we play tough teams and teams who've been doing well, we get to our game right away because we know we have to," Bruins forward Charlie Coyle said. "So, usually our start is on. Whether we score the first goal or not, we just stay at it. We do the right things. We play simple and you see when we do that, we kind of take over."

BOS@MIN: Bergeron buries one-timer from the slot

David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron each had a goal and an assist for Boston (52-11-5), which has won two straight and is 11 points ahead of the Carolina Hurricanes for first in the Eastern Conference. Linus Ullmark made 29 saves.
Marcus Johansson had a goal and an assist, and Oskar Sundqvist scored for Minnesota (39-22-8), which was 11-0-3 during its team-record streak. Filip Gustavsson made 33 saves.
"We were happy with a lot of things that we did," Wild coach Dean Evason said. "We can correct some things on the three even-strength goals. They had a penalty kill and then an empty-net [goal]. There's some initiatives, some sticks on pucks that we could have did and/or closing on all three (goals) that we could have probably got out of it before they end up in our net. We got some stuff that we can address before tomorrow's game."
The Wild failed to gain in the Central Division and remained in second place, tied with the Colorado Avalanche, who have a game in hand, and three points behind the first-place Dallas Stars.

Johansson made it 1-0 at 9:45 of the first period, one-timing a feed from Matt Boldy.
It appeared Matt Dumba increased the lead at 13:02 with a power-play goal, but Boston used a coach's challenge, and video review determined the play was offside.
Jake DeBrusk tied it 1-1 at 18:38, cutting in the slot with a wrist shot.
Pastrnak scored his 47th goal of the season to give Boston a 2-1 lead at 8:43 of the second period with a shot from the left circle on the power play.

Boldy appeared to tie the game at 9:54, but the Bruins used a coach's challenge for offside and the goal was overturned after video review determined Boldy was offside.
"Game of inches," Dumba said. "Those go the other way … we're in the saddle right where we want to be. And that's not making excuses for us. It just simply shows [the Bruins are] the best in the League. We're right there, we're right there. We made it hard on them."
David Krejci increased the lead to 3-1 at 14:03 after Pavel Zacha won a battle along the boards and poked the puck loose to Krejci, who skated up the slot for the goal.
"It's not often you let in two extra goals and still come out with the win," Ullmark said. "You got to give credit to [video coaches] for catching that. It was huge. They got a couple of momentum swings. We got it right back and we go up to 3-1, which basically speaks for itself.
"It always feels weird because as a goalie [it's] like, 'OK, I let in three now.' All of a sudden, you look up at the clock and realize, 'No, I didn't.'"
Sundqvist got the Wild within 3-2 at 7:17 of the third period, tapping in a backdoor cross-ice feed from Frederick Gaudreau on the power play.
Bergeron made it 4-2 at 12:22 with a shot from the slot, and Trent Frederic scored into an empty net at 18:03 for the 5-2 final.
"I thought Bergeron's line set the tone for us," Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. "A couple of great forechecking goals. I thought everybody was involved, but I liked our game management. … That unselfishness that we've seen throughout the year was very evident tonight."
NOTES:The 52 wins are the most in a season for the Bruins since 2013-14 (54) and five shy of the most in a season in their history (57 in 1970-71). … Ullmark (110-62-16) played his 200th NHL game. Five active goaltenders have more wins through 200 games: Matt Murray (118), Andrei Vasilevskiy (118), Frederik Andersen (116), Tristan Jarry (113) and Connor Hellebuyck (111). … Bergeron (51 points) reached 50 points for the 14th time, all with the Bruins.
