WASHINGTON -- The Washington Capitals extended their point streak to 14 games, tied for the second-longest in their history, with a 6-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at Verizon Center on Monday.
Washington is 12-0-2 during the streak and has scored at least four goals in eight consecutive games. The Capitals went 14-0-1 from Jan. 13-Feb. 10 in 2010.
Dmitry Orlov scored twice and Braden Holtby made 25 saves for the Capitals (32-9-6). Justin Williams, Evgeny Kuznetsov, T.J. Oshie and Lars Eller also scored.
