Mercer

New Jersey Devils forward Dawson Mercer, a regular interviewee, became the interviewer at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The VMAs were held at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and Mercer was there to ask celebrities the hard-hitting questions. Alongside television personality Arthur Kade, Mercer interviewed TV hosts Nev Schulman and Justina Valentine, actress Chloe Fineman and singers Betty Who, Kane Brown and Dixie D'Amelio.
D'Amelio said she used to play field hockey and admitted she isn't a great ice skater, but would want Mercer to teach her how to use both sides of a hockey stick, as opposed to field hockey, where only one side of the stick is used.

Brown just wants to learn the basics.
"I'm from the south so we didn't really grow up around hockey," he said. "For me, it would be learning how to skate, move a puck or a slapshot."

Schulman was a little thrown off by how young Mercer looked.
"Are you even old enough to be a professional anything?" Schulman joked.

Mercer asked Schulman about his favorite part of New Jersey. While Mercer was hoping to hear it was the Devils, Schulman instead turned him on to Wawa's sandwiches.
"I'll have to try one," Mercer said.
While talking to Fineman, Mercer learned he'd have to get comfortable in a wig in order to make it on "Saturday Night Live."
"I don't want to wear a wig. I like my hair," he said.

Who said singer Jack Harlow would make the best hockey player out of any artist at the VMAs. She is also a huge hockey fan.

"I love the idea that hockey is absolutely for everybody and should be a safe space for everyone," Who said.
