The life of longtime coach Al Arbour will be celebrated at a memorial service held by the New York Islanders on Aug. 29, marking the one-year anniversary of his death. The service will be held at the Islanders practice facility in East Meadow, N.Y.
Attendees will include Arbour's family, former general manager Bill Torrey and Islanders alumni, 14-time Stanley Cup champion Scotty Bowman, current Islanders coach Jack Capuano and captain John Tavares. Former Islanders play-by-play announcer Jiggs McDonald will serve as master of ceremonies.
