Buffalo Sabres
Victor Olofsson returned to the lineup at the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Olofsson joined the Sabres for the morning skate in a non-contact jersey. It was the forward's first practice since he sustained an undisclosed injury that kept him out for eight games; he last played at the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 31. Olofsson is tied with Jeff Skinner and Tage Thompson for the Sabres lead with five goals.
Defenseman Henri Jokiharju remains out for the Sabres. He practiced Friday and could play against the Columbus Blue Jackets at home Monday. Jokiharju was hit in the ankle by a puck in the first period of the season opener against the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 14. He finished the game but hasn't played since.
"Any time you get guys back into practice, it's encouraging," coach Don Granato said. "They've already skated with our rehab skates and conditioning skates, so by the time they enter team practice they've had multiple days on the ice, and it's good news." -- Heather Engel
Minnesota Wild
Jared Spurgeon did not play against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday after the defenseman sustained a lower-body injury during the first period of a 5-4 loss at the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
"You don't have your captain and arguably your best player against the best team in the League, it's tough," Wild coach Dean Evason said Saturday.
Spurgeon was replaced in the lineup by defenseman Jordie Benn, who hadn't played since Oct. 28.
Defenseman Calen Addison was recalled from Iowa of the American Hockey League on Sunday. He scored one goal in two games earlier this season.
Winnipeg Jets
Paul Stastny is expected to skate Monday, and the forward could be close to returning from a foot injury.
"I think he'll skate tomorrow so hopefully that's the start of him coming back," coach Paul Maurice said.
Stastny has been out since being hit in the foot with a puck and leaving in the third period of a 2-0 loss to the New York Islanders on Nov. 6.
Maurice said if Stastny has a good day Monday he could travel with the Jets on a three-game road trip that starts at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
"I think once he gets back on the ice I don't think it's very long after that," he said. "It's up to the conditioning part of it. We'll see. They're pretty comfortable that they've been able to do enough to keep him not far off it."
The Jets play the Pittsburgh Penguins at home Monday.
