The Ottawa Senators forward scored his first NHL goal, a highlight-reel, one-timer rocketed off a bounce after a sky high tipped pass in the third period of their 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
With the Senators trailing 3-1, the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft smashed Thomas Chabot's pass - which popped up high above the playing surface after being deflected - past Maple Leafs goalie Jack Campbell for his first goal in the League.
Even Campbell could appreciate Stutzle's skill.
"The only thing I could think of, other than 'I should've had it' was 'I just want to shake his hand,'" Campbell said after the game. "That was a heck of a play."
It was the first goal of what Stutzle, and Senators coach D.J. Smith, hope are a long career's worth of goals.
"He's going to be a really good player," Smith said. "It's great he gets that goal. I think you're going to see more and more of that as the year goes on."
