Monday was Knight time at the Stanley Cup Final. Gladys Knight time, that is.

The "Empress of Soul" was at T-Mobile Arena performing "God Bless America" in honor of Memorial Day in the United States at Game 1 of the Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals.
Knight, who also celebrated her 74th birthday on Monday, had a longtime residency in Las Vegas and lived there for more than 50 years until she sold her home in January. She readily admits she didn't see hockey flourishing in Las Vegas.

"It is so amazing," Knight told Scott Oake of CBC before the game. "This just shows you what can happen in the world, in the future."
The Golden Knights invited Knight to sing at their Cup Final debut, and she couldn't pass up a return trip to support her city, and her namesake, on hockey's biggest stage.
"Yes we have," Knight said when asked if she's caught Knights fever. "I feel like I'm on the team."
