Maple Leafs celebrate series win

It's been a long time coming, Toronto.

With its overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2004.
John Tavares's goal in overtime sent the team -- and the city -- into a long-awaited frenzy.

That frenzy caused quite the traffic jam in downtown Toronto, but we're sure not too many people will mind.

After the historic series win, the Maple Leafs got well-deserved props from their Toronto counterparts, the Raptors and the Blue Jays.

The team even got a shoutout on Twitter from the Stanley Cup itself.

Still a lot of work to be done if the Maple Leafs want to meet the Cup face-to-face, but for now the team is the closest it's been in 19 years.
