TRENDING UP

Carter Hart, PHI -- It was a memorable NHL debut for the 20-year-old, who made 20 saves and allowed two goals in a 3-2 win for the Philadelphia Flyers against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. With lower-body injuries to goalies Brian Elliott and Anthony Stolarz, it's likely Hart (27 percent owned in Yahoo) will continue to see playing time. He is an intriguing add in deeper leagues and will likely maintain fantasy relevance at least until Elliott returns.
David Rittich, CGY -- The Calgary Flames goalie is 11-4-1 with a 2.20 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 19 games. Rititch (58 percent owned) has started four of the past five games over Mike Smith. The high-powered offense of the Flames (3.49 goals per game; sixth in NHL) makes Rittich a must-add goalie and an intriguing trade target in season-long leagues.

TRENDING DOWN

Henrik Lundqvist, NYR -- The New York Rangers goalie may be one of the all-time greats, but has not been reliable from a fantasy standpoint this season. New York is in rebuilding mode, but Lundqvist has a 2.87 GAA, .914 SV%, at least four goals allowed in four straight games and at least three goals allowed in six straight. He has 10 wins and is likely owned for name value alone.
Florida Panthers goalies -- The Panthers have allowed at least four goals in five of the past eight games and rank 27th in goals against per game (3.50) over the span. Roberto Luongo (15 starts, seven wins, 2.94 GAA, .906 SV%) and James Reimer (18 starts, five wins, 3.47 GAA, .889 SV%) haven't found any consistency, making this tandem an afterthought for fantasy owners. But, depending on the matchup, Luongo could still be a valuable DFS option on any given night.

FANTASY TOP 25 GOALIE RANKINGS

Standard Yahoo goalie categories include wins, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts. Value has been quantified based on factors including but not limited to past production, team goalie situations, anticipated start volume, projected goal support (or lack thereof), injury history, sleeper, bounce-back or breakout potential, anticipated regression, age and contract status (potential 2019 UFA: \; RFA: \\). DTD indicates player with day-to-day injury. NOTE: These rankings were updated Dec. 19 and then again to reflect order of NHL.com's top 200 overall update Dec. 24.
