Golden Knights forward Mark Stone said: "When I saw Jack with the puck, I was trying to take it like it was basketball, you know? Let him kind of isolate, and we tried to run a little crisscross and get them confused. He took a power move to the net, and it's a beautiful and timely goal."
Eichel and Stone each had a goal and an assist for Vegas (8-2-0), which has won four in a row (outscored opponents 13-4). Adin Hill made 23 saves.
"Our top guys get a goal for us," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. "Tough for 'Hillie' right? He doesn't see much. All of a sudden in the third period, now he has to be relied on. He gets paid to do his job, and he did it and did it well."
Hellebuyck made 46 saves for Winnipeg (5-3-1), which had won three straight.
It was Hellebuyck's second straight game making at least 40 saves.
"Ideally, you don't give up that many shots, but that's my job back there to be around when I'm needed," Hellebuyck said. "Two games I was needed. Fortunately, we got five out of six (points)."
Hellebuyck kept the game scoreless at 11:10 of the first period with a highlight-reel save. Stone got the puck near the right post and sent a backdoor pass to Nicolas Hague, whose shot into a wide-open net was stopped by Hellebuyck's outstretched stick. Stone then tried to jam in the rebound, but Hellebuyck twisted his body around and got his blocker on the puck.
"He's an outstanding goaltender," Winnipeg assistant Scott Arniel said. "We don't want to put him through this. We're hoping we can build our defensive and all-around game so he doesn't have to face so much rubber."
