EDMONTON, AB - Stuart Skinner took shots from William Lagesson, Devin Shore, Tyler Benson and Kyle Turris on Wednesday afternoon at Rogers Place as a handful of Oilers took part in an optional practice following Tuesday night's 3-2 overtime win in Vancouver.
Connor McDavid scored the game-winner to complete the two-goal comeback win for the Oilers and help earn the club their second-straight victory. Edmonton improved to 20-16-2 on the season and currently sits six points back of the Los Angeles Kings for third spot in the Pacific Division with five games in hand.
Head Coach Dave Tippett is hopeful he'll have Zach Hyman back in the lineup on Thursday when the formidable Nashville Predators enter Rogers Place, but despite being eligible to exit COVID-19 Protocol on Tuesday, the forward still needs to complete testing before being able to re-join his teammates for Thursday's match against Nashville.
"He skated on his own this morning and we're waiting on a few more tests to come back today," Tippett said. "If those come back the way we hope, he'll skate in the morning. But it's tough to make a call until then."
Following practice, Turris was loaned to the taxi squad and goaltender Ilya Konovalov was assigned to the Bakersfield Condors.
