EDMONTON, AB - Bakersfield Condors Head Coach Jay Woodcroft ran Friday's on-ice session at Oilers Rookie Camp, coming away quite impressed with the 2018 crop of talent attending.
The first-year bench boss assessed the talent in a media availability following the skate.
"I can tell you that these young guys have come in and did very well as a group on their testing, which is impressive," Woodcroft started. "Their attention span in Day 1 was obvious and we're excited to work with them."
While Woodcroft noted he likes seeing the prospects make plays that leave a lasting impression, he doesn't want players forcing anything.
"They're here for a reason," Woodcroft added. "Whatever their dimension is, whether they're a great skater or they can move pucks or they're physical, they're here for a reason.
