Day one of Main Camp is a go as the Oilers return to the city and move into their new Rogers Place digs.
"[We're] almost [in] disbelief how much thought was put into this facility - they really didn't overlook any details or anything like that," said Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot. "They gave us everything here that we need to be a successful team and now we need to go out there and put it on the ice."
Seven goalies, 21 defencemen and 33 forwards will be battling for positions on the NHL club's final roster. With a season of changes, the Oilers Inaugural season is bound to bring with it a number of surprises.
"We definitely got a lot heavier, a lot tougher, we shored up some spots on the back end there and we made a lot of good moves that are going to benefit us moving forward," said the netminder.
The netminder said the Oilers excitement is through the roof - but not to the extent where they would make holes in the brand new ceiling of course.
"You can tell, just by the guys walking in here and seeing this new arena, how excited all the guys are to get going," said Talbot. "The excitement around the city makes us even more excited to get going and to get started in this building and see what kind of fans we can get out here."
