QUICK HITS

Per Elias, the Penguins have 14 comeback wins this season, marking the most such wins by any team through their first 25 games in NHL history (Anaheim, 12 comeback wins in 2012-13; Chicago, 12 comeback wins in 2012-13; Buffalo, 12 comeback wins in 2006-07).
Evgeni Malkin has points in 12-consecutive games against Buffalo (6G-12A), and has 55 points (18G-37A) in 42 career games overall.
Evgeni Malkin enters tonight's game riding a season-long five-game point streak (2G-5A). With a point tonight, Malkin can record his first six-game point streak since Dec. 17-30, 2019 (3G-8A). His six-game point streak in 2019 was part of an unofficial nine-game point streak.
Sidney Crosby enters tonight's game with 199 career multi-assist games, and his next such instance will make him the 22nd player in NHL history to have 200 or more games with multiple assists, moving him into a three-way tie with Doug Gilmour (200) and Bobby Clarke (200) for the 20th most multi-assist games in NHL history.
In three career starts against the Buffalo Sabres, Tristan Jarry is 2-1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average, a .935 save percentage and one shutout.
The Penguins will sport their black jerseys tonight, opposed to the white jerseys they traditionally wear on the road.

SULLIVAN CLOSING IN ON 300 WINS

Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan is currently sitting on 299 career wins as a head coach and is looking to become the 50th head coach in NHL history, and 14th active, to reach the 300-win mark. Sullivan would become the 12th coach in NHL history to have 300 wins and at least two Stanley Cup championships to his name, and is also looking to join John Tortorella, Peter Laviolette and Dan Bylsma as the only American-born head coaches to win 300 games. If the Penguins were to win tonight in Sullivan's 559th game coached, he would match Emile Francis (559) as the 13th-fastest head coach in NHL history to reach the 300-win milestone.

SHORTY GET LOOSE

Teddy Blueger tallied his second shorthanded goal of the season on Tuesday night against the Rangers, giving Pittsburgh three shorthanded goals this year. Only the Montreal Canadiens (7), Columbus Blue Jackets (5) and Boston Bruins (4) have recorded more shorthanded goals this season than Pittsburgh's three. Since making his NHL debut on Jan. 30, 2019, Blueger is tied with Jared McCann (3) and Brandon Tanev (3) for the most shorthanded goals on the Penguins.
