A 3-1 win in Brooklyn is quickly behind the Nashville Predators as they prepare to face the Boston Bruins tonight (at 6 p.m. CT).
Juuse Saros started in net for Nashville (39-25-11) on Monday against the Islanders, as the Preds earned their fourth consecutive win despite being without Mike Fisher (day-to-day; lower-body injury) and Yannick Weber (day-to-day; upper-body injury). Fisher did not make the trip and will not play for the Predators tonight.
The Predators did not hold a morning skate on Tuesday in advance of their second game in two nights, but with Saros playing yesterday, it's quite possible Pekka Rinne will between the pipes this evening.
Boston (39-30-6) holds the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, and will try for a split in their season series with Nashville after falling to the Preds, 2-1, on Jan. 12. The Bruins also defeated the Islanders, 2-1, in their most recent game.
Below is Nashville's projected lineup based on Monday's contest:
Projected Lineup: Predators at Bruins
Pekka Rinne Likely to Start in Second Half of Back-to-Back; No Mike Fisher for Nashville
