PHI@DET: Larkin, Vrana connect to extend lead

Jakub Vrana recorded his second two-goal game of the season to lead the Detroit Red Wings past the Philadelphia Flyers, 6-3, on Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena. Vrana scored once in the first period and once in the second, highlighting a strong offensive performance from the Red Wings.
Joe Veleno and Lucas Raymond also scored for Detroit, which built a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes. Philadelphia trimmed the Red Wings' lead to 4-3 midway through the third frame, but Oskar Sundqvist and Tyler Bertuzzi both added late empty-net goals to seal the win.
With an assist on Vrana's second-period goal, captain Dylan Larkin recorded his 350th career point.

Sundqvist and Jake Walman both made their Red Wings debuts on Tuesday after being acquired by Detroit on Monday. Sundqvist finished with two points in 15:42 of ice time while Walman had a plus-1 rating in 17:19 of ice time.
With the win, Detroit (26-30-7) swept the three-game season series over Philadelphia.

Bertuzzi picked up a loose puck behind Philadelphia's net and sent a pass that deflected off Pius Suter's stick to Vrana. He hit the bouncing puck into the top right corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

After Gustav Lindstrom fed Larkin just below the blue line, he quickly changed direction and passed the puck to Raymond inside the right faceoff circle. He sent a one-timer past Philadelphia goalie Carter Hart for his 20th goal of the season.

Joel Farabee scored his 13th goal of the season after the Flyers found themselves in a three-on-one situation against Red Wings goalie Alex Nedeljkovic.

Oskar Lindblom received a cross-ice pass from Travis Konecny and scored a transition goal to pull the Flyers within one.

After Bertuzzi knocked the puck out of the air, Larkin scooped it up and raced down the ice. The Red Wings captain created space for himself, then made a backwards pass to Vrana, who fired a one-timer over Hart's shoulder for the eventual game-winner.

James van Riemsdyk scored a one-timer from the right faceoff circle to pull the Flyers back within one score for the second time on Tuesday night.

Sundqvist added an empty-netter for his first goal with the Red Wings and his fifth tally of the season. Suter and Hronek each recorded an assist.
