Forward Riley Sheahan is considered day to day with a muscular injury, Granato announced. Sheahan has missed the last two days of practice.
With Sheahan out, the Sabres recalled Sean Malone from the Rochester Americans early Friday morning.
Malone missed the beginning of camp as he recovered from offseason surgery. He returned to practice on Sept. 28 and was sent to Rochester earlier this week. Read more about him here.
Tonight will mark his preseason debut.
"We wanted to give him a game earlier," Granato said. "Obviously, health dictated that it wasn't the case. … Last season, we talked about him a couple times being a potential callup, and each time he was not healthy.
"And he has really played well in Rochester and was a guy we wanted back, and tonight's an opportunity to get him in there before the season starts, knowing that there's a chance he'll be with us at some point during the year."

Comrie will make his second preseason appearance in goal. He played the full game in his first start, a 27-save effort in Columbus on September 28.
Tristan Jarry will start in goal and play the full game for the Penguins.
Pittsburgh's training camp roster - which you can find here- currently stands at 28 players. The team has not announced its lineup for tonight.
