In 206 career AHL games, all with the Worcester Sharks/San Jose Barracuda franchise, Carpenter has tallied 44 goals and 86 assists. He has a plus-42 rating, 457 shots on goal and 105 penalty minutes. During the 2015-16 AHL season, he led the Barracuda in points (55), assists (37) and plus/minus (plus-20), and was named to the 2016 AHL All-Star Game. Carpenter made his NHL debut on December 12, 2015 against Minnesota at SAP Center.
Prior to turning pro, in 100 career collegiate games with Bowling Green, Carpenter registered 79 points (37-42=79) and 51 penalty minutes, while serving as team captain his sophomore and junior seasons. In his freshman season (2011-12), he was honored with the Bowling Green Rookie of the Year Award and led the team in assists (19) and points (30).
The six-foot, 195-pound forward was born in Oviedo, Florida. He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on March 25, 2014.
