"Our organization is proud to host Noche Mexicana and celebrate our region's vibrant Mexican American culture," said Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts. "This is an opportunity for us to honor a community that makes the Metroplex a wonderful place to live, and we're excited to build upon what we did last year."
Dropping the puck will be former Dallas Mavericks player Eduardo Nájera, who was just the second Mexican-born player in NBA history and the first Mexican player to be drafted.
Noche Mexicana will include numerous special features both pregame at Party on PNC Plaza and in-arena with performances by Monica Saldivarand Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklorico.
Saldivar, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, and one of the hottest up-and-coming vocalists in the Tejano genre, was named "Best New Female Artist" at the 2020 Tejano Music Awards and winner of the Austin-based singing competition "Tejano Idol" in 2015. Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklorico was started in 1997 with the necessity to offer quality dance programs for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex audience and has been performing for many cultural and private events, presenting more than 800 performances over the past 15 years.
Oak Cliff-based celebrity food truck/taqueria shop Tacos La Gloriawill be serving food at Party on PNC Plaza beginning at 5:30 p.m.
During pregame warmup, the entire Stars team will wear one-of-a-kind jerseys with the colors of the Mexican flag that will be auctioned off through the Dallas Stars Foundation. Proceeds collected from the warmup jersey auction and the Dallas Stars Foundation 50/50 Raffle will benefit Bachman Lake Together.
Early-arriving fans to the game will also receive a Mexican heritage poncho courtesy of Ford.
