MONTREAL - The 2023 NHL Draft concluded on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

After selecting defenseman David Reinbacher with the fifth-overall pick in yesterday's first-round, the Canadiens added five players and three goalies to their prospect pool in rounds two through seven.

Reinbacher made Austrian hockey history by tying former Hab Thomas Vanek as the highest-drafted player from that country.

The 18-year-old was the first defenseman off the board at this year's Draft.

Montreal selected 69th, 101st, 110th, 128th, 133rd, 144th, 165th and 197th overall on Thursday.

Round 3, Pick 69: Jacob Fowler, Goalie, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)

With the 69th overall pick, the Canadiens selected Jacob Fowler. A native of Melbourne, FL, Fowler played the 2022-23 season for the Youngstown Phantoms in the United States Hockey League. In 40 games, he compiled a 2.28 goals-against average, to go along with a .921 save percentage. In nine postseason appearances, the 18-year-old posted an 8-1-0 record en route to a USHL Championship. Fowler is committed to Boston College for the 2023-24 campaign.

Round 4, Pick 101: Florian Xhekaj, Left Wing, Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)

Montreal used the first of three fourth-round picks to select Florian Xhekaj from the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Ontario Hockey League. The 19-year-old is the brother of current Habs defenseman, Arber. The Hamilton, ON native put up 13-12-25 totals in 68 games this past season. Standing at 6-foot-2, the left-winger suited up for six postseason contests, netting one goal and adding a pair of helpers.

Round 4, Pick 110: Bogdan Konyushkov, Defenseman, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (KHL)

At the 110-spot (previously acquired from Pittsburgh), the Canadiens opted for defenseman Bogdan Konyushkov out of Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League. The 5-foot-11, 176 lb., right-handed blue-liner collected 25 points (2G, 23A) in 64 games in Russia's top flight.

Round 4, Pick 128: Quentin Miller, Goalie, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)

The Habs stayed local for their 128th pick (previously acquired from Vegas), drafting Montreal native Quentin Miller from the Quebec Remparts in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 20 appearances with the Memorial Cup champions, the 18-year-old netminder posted a 14-4-0 record, with a 2.11 GAA and a .911 SV%.

Round 5, Pick 133: Sam Harris, Left Wing, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)

The bleu-blanc-rouge elected to take Sam Harris with the 133rd overall pick. This season, the San Diego, CA native recorded a career-high 56 points (30G, 26A) in 56 games with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. The left-winger also represented USA at the World Junior-A Challenge, where he registered two goals in six games. Next season, Harris will suit up for the Pioneers at the University of Denver.

Round 5, Pick 144: Yevgeni Volokhin, Goalie, Khanty-Mansiysk Jr. (MHL)

With their second pick in the fifth-round, Montreal chose Yevgeni Volokhin out of Russia's junior league. The 18-year-old was the third goalie selected by the Canadiens in the 2023 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-3 shot stopper displayed a 20-6-3 record in 2022-23. In 31 contests, Volokhin was the author of a 2.12 GAA, to go along with a .927 SV%.

Round 6, Pick 165: Filip Eriksson, Center, Vaxjo Lakers (J20)

Next, the CH added a center to their prospect pool, drafting Filip Eriksson from the Vaxjo Lakers in the J20 Nationell league. The young Swede produced at nearly a point-per-game pace, tallying 10 points (5G, 5A) in 11 outings this past season.

Round 7, Pick 197: Luke Mittelstadt, Defenseman, University of Minnesota (NCAA)

The Canadiens rounded out their 2023 NHL Draft by selecting defenseman Luke Mittelstadt out of the University of Minnesota. Mittelstadt, whose brother Casey plays for the Buffalo Sabres, patrolled the Golden Gophers blueline for 38 games in the most recent campaign, collecting 21 points (5G, 16A) in the meantime. The 20-year-old also represented USA at the 2023 World Junior Championship, where he registered three assists in seven outings en route to a bronze medal.
