The Vegas Golden Knights Game Changer Program presented by America First Credit Union recognizes and rewards teachers in Clark County that are going above and beyond to in their classrooms. Outstanding teachers nominated will have the chance to receive a $1,000.00 grant to be used towards improving their classroom.

Michele Bogan

Walter Johnson Junior High School

Michele is known to the entire school the most positive, supportive and genuine person around. Michele recently raised her hand to help out in the office while the office manager went on maternity leave. This is just one example of how ready she is to help! Her positivity is felt throughout the school and her students always make it a point to come back and visit her after that more on to 8th grade and beyond!

Rebecca Shultz

Liberty High School

Not only does Rebecca go above and beyond in her classroom with the students, but her biggest contribution to the students and families is her willingness to assist them in navigating the world they will enter after high school. Rebecca also focuses on making her classroom a calm and inviting space which she believes leads to a better environment for both learning and growing. Rebecca also volunteers her free time to chaperone dances and work with other teachers on campus to make sure the school is a safe place. Nobody puts their heart and soul into teaching like she does!

John O'Brien

John O'Dooley Elementary

John goes above and beyond in his classrooms through excellent communication with both students and their parents and everyone can see how much he wants everyone to succeed. He sets the bar high for fundraisers and tried to hype the students up so they reach their goal. John even pledges to shave his head every time they do. He spends his off time volunteering at various events such as the Santa breakfast. John is also formerly in the military and has served his country! John has the biggest heart and brings love, happiness and fun for everyone at John O'Dooley!

Ms. Litke is an amazing teacher and cheerleader for her special needs students. She continually goes above and beyond to ensure her students are successful by communicating with families, donating time or money and by creating a learning environment unique for each student! Her love for her students does not end when they leave each day, instead it continues not only into the evenings or weekends but long after they leave her class and go on to middle school. We can all tell that Ms. Litke sees every child as an opportunity for greatness.

Crystal absolutely loves being a teacher, cares about every student and is willing to go out of her way to make all of her students feel comfortable in the classroom. Crystal goes above and beyond to make her classroom an environment where students can be themselves. As a first year teacher the award from America First will go towards the completion of decorating her room!

Annie treats her students with respect and provides an environment for them to transition into young adults. She encourages her 7th graders to participate in class activities and interact with one another. She does a great job finding unique ways to relate the lesson information to the students in a real life meaningful way! She continues to attend many after school activities to show her passion for her work as well as the students interests. With the grant from America First Annie will supply her students with notebooks and purchase lesson materials for her interactive classroom!! Congratulations, Annie!

Jacqualine has a heart of gold and her students all love her. Throughout the year she made countless deliveries of supplies needed such as books, flash cards and notes to make sure students did not fall behind during virtual learning. She helps students set short term and long term goals for each one of her students and follows up to make sure follows through. Most importantly Jacqualine takes on a role that is beyond her title, from working through social distance with special needs, short staffed, she does it all and always with a smile on her face!

Ms. Sechrist comes in with a smile every day and leads by example to try and set her students up for success no matter the circumstance. She strives to celebrate all students' successes regardless of how big or small. To create some fun in the classroom, Ms. Sechrist is always setting up themed classrooms for a more interactive and engaging lesson for the students. To go even one step further she provides PowerPoint presentations of each lesson so the students can visually understand as well.
