EDMONTON, AB - Kris Russell was honoured to wear the No. 4 for the Edmonton Oilers, the digit Kevin Lowe made famous over his 1,209 career games with the Orange & Blue.
At the beginning of the season, Russell respected the legend by switching to No. 6 and is excited to be part of the icon's banner-raising ceremony Friday ahead of puck drop against the New York Rangers.
"I was very thankful that I was able to get the opportunity to wear No. 4. Selfishly, I think that it's great for me that I was the last guy to wear it before it goes up for Mr. Lowe," Russell told media members from the Oilers Hall of Fame Room on Thursday.
