The Iowa Wild earned its first win under new head coach Brett McLean with a 4-2 victory over the Manitoba Moose on Friday, Oct. 20. Jake Lucchini found the back of the net twice for Iowa, Casey Dornbach and Adam Beckman scored the other two goals. Jujhar Khaira registered his second two assist game and Jesper Wallstedt stopped 33-of-35 shots faced. The two teams met again the next night where Iowa fell to Manitoba, 8-2. Vinni Lettieri and Simon Johansson were the lone goal scorers for Iowa, and Nic Petan tallied two assists on the night. Zane McIntyre stopped 40-of-48 shots faced. Through four games, Lucchini leads all Iowa skaters with six points (3-3=6), Petan has recorded five points (0-5=5), Beckman (2-2=4) and Khaira (0-4=4) have four points each. Wallstedt is 1-1-0 with a 2.55 GAA and a .912 SV%, McIntyre is 0-2-0 with a 7.23 GAA and a .778 SV%. Iowa will host the Chicago Wolves tonight., before closing out the weekend on the road with games against Rockford on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. and Milwaukee on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.
