After wrapping up its regular season and advancing to the Calder Cup Playoffs for the second time in franchise history, Iowa saw its season come to an end last week after falling to Rockford in games one and two of a three-game series.

The series began on April 19 when Iowa fell 3-2 in overtime at Rockford. Mitchell Balmas opened the scoring for Iowa in the first period, while Steven Fogarty's goal in the third period sent the game to overtime. Dakota Mermis, Tanner Kaspick, Nic Petan and Joe Hicketts all recorded assists. Jesper Wallstedt sopped 28-of-31 shots faced.
The series concluded on April 21, where Iowa once again fell in overtime, 4-3 at home. Damien Giroux opened the scoring in the first period, Marco Rossi and Adam Beckman both found the back of the net in the third period. Beckman's goal gave Iowa a late lead before Rockford tied the game nearly five minutes later. Daemon Hunt,Patrick Curry, Rossi and Sammy Walker all recorded assists in the game. Wallstedt, in his second Calder Cup Playoff game, stopped 26-of-29 shots faced and finished the series with a 3.25 GAA and a SV% of .897.
