The Colorado Avalanche are proud to honor teachers and school administrators in Colorado through the Colorado Avalanche Most Valuable Teacher (MVT) program, presented by Ford. The MVT program encourages teachers and school administrators to continually strive for excellence and leadership in their schools by offering a unique experience. The MVT program offers award options for teachers and school administrators within the Denver metro area and throughout the state of Colorado.
Denver Metro Area:
Once a month for four (4) months of the NHL season, the Colorado Avalanche will recognize a Denver metro area teacher or school administrator for their outstanding work in empowering youth in our community. To be considered for the Colorado Avalanche Metro Area Most Valuable Teacher award, nominees must be employed by a school located within a 30-minute drive of Ball Arena (1000 Chopper Circle, Denver, CO 80204).

State of Colorado:
Once a month for four (4) months of the NHL season, the Colorado Avalanche will recognize a teacher or school administrator outside of the Denver metro area for their outstanding work in empowering youth in our community. To be considered for the Colorado Avalanche State of Colorado Most Valuable Teacher award, nominees must be employed by a school that is more than a 30-minute drive from Ball Arena and located in the State of Colorado.
