The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has acquired a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Ben Meyers.
Meyers, 25, appeared in nine games with the Avalanche this season and registered one point (1g/0a). His goal came in his season debut with the organization’s parent club on Dec. 11 vs. Calgary. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound forward also suited up in 32 AHL games with the Colorado Eagles in 2023-24, producing 25 points (11g/14a).
A native of Delano, Minnesota, Meyers skated in 53 games for the Avalanche from 2021-24 and tallied six points (6g/0a) as well as 62 games for the Eagles where he recorded 49 points (17g/32a). He signed with the Avalanche as a free agent on April 13, 2022 after playing collegiately at the University of Minnesota.
