As the last contest before the All-Star Game, The Colorado Avalanche host the division rival Arizona Coyotes in their third matchup of the season. With a win, the Avs would tie the fourth-longest home winning streak in NHL history. The game begins at 7:00 p.m. MT on Tuesday.

Against Buffalo at home, Colorado secured a 4-1 victory. Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin both secured two points (one goal and one assist each). Nazem Kadri and Gabriel Landeskog each scored a goal, while Cale Makar, Dylan Sikura, Alex Newhook, Logan O'Connor, and Samuel Girard all tallied one assist.
Colorado's next contest takes place at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb.10.

COLORADO-ARIZONA CONNECTIONS

Arizona's Connor Timmins was selected by the Colorado Avalanche, 32nd overall, in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft... Colorado goalie Darcy Kuemper was acquired from the Coyotes this past summer and played in Arizona for two seasons.
HISTORY
The Avs currently hold a 72-51-19 franchise mark against Arizona, including contests when the franchises were in Quebec and Winnipeg respectively. Since relocating to Denver, Colorado has held a 55-31-11 record against the franchise.
This season, the Avs have defeated the Coyotes twice, once in a shootout. The two teams will compete in their final contest on March 3.
ROSTER REPORT
Nathan MacKinnon, captain for the Central Division All-Star Team, has undergone surgery and will see ice on Feb. 10 against Tampa Bay at the earliest. He will not participate in the All-Star Game.
INJURY REPORT
Nathan MacKinnon is out through the All-Star Game. Ryan Murray remains sidelined due to an upper body injury. Bowen Byram continues to sit out due to lingering concerns over past head injuries. Darren Helm is still day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Stefan Matteau is expected be out for a few more weeks while rehabbing a lower-body injury.

The Coyotes start a back-to-back in Colorado, returning home to face Calgary for their second leg. Against the Avs, Arizona is looking to snap a five-game losing streak. The Coyotes are eighth in the Central Division with a 10-29-4 record.
