Avalanche Welcome Kraken for First Time in Franchise History

The Avs complete their three-game homestand hosting the Seattle Kraken. It is the first time Colorado will host the 32nd team in franchise history. The game begins at 7:00 p.m. MT on Monday.
Most recently, the Avalanche secured a 5-4 overtime victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs, cementing the teams longest home winning streak in franchise history at 11 straight contests won.

Leading the team in points was Mikko Rantanen with four assists. Gabriel Landeskog and Cale Makar each had a goal and an assist of their own, while Nazem Kadri also secured two assists. Nicolas Aube-Kubel contributed one assist. Lastly, Nathan MacKinnon and J.T. Compher each scored one goal, while Devon Toews took home the game-winning overtime goal.
Colorado ends the three-game homestand with a back-to-back, facing the Predators in Nashville on Tuesday evening.

COLORADO-SEATTLE CONNECTIONS

Seattle right wing Joonas Donskoi played in Colorado for two seasons before being selected by the Kraken in its expansion draft... Seattle goalie Philipp Grubauer played three seasons for the Avalanche, eventually signing with the Kraken this summer as a free agent for its inaugural season.

The Avalanche and Kraken have only ever matched up once before, with the advantage going to Colorado, taking home a 7-3 victory out of Seattle. Cale Makar led the Avalanche in that game, taking home three points (two goals, one assist).
