Logan O'Connor Arizona Coyotes 2021 February 21

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has re-signed forward Logan O'Connor to a three-year extension beginning with the 2022-23 season through the 2024-25 campaign.
O'Connor, 25, spent the entire 2020-21 season with the Avalanche, recording five points (3g/2a) and a +6 rating in 22 games. He appeared in 15 of Colorado's 17 games in March before missing the final 21 contests of the regular season due to a lower-body injury. O'Connor appeared in two games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, skating in Games 5 and 6 of Colorado's second-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Signed by Colorado as a free agent on July 23, 2018, O'Connor has skated in 43 career regular-season NHL games (5g/2a) and has produced 67 points (31g/36a) in 104 career American Hockey League outings. The Missouri City, Texas, native split the 2019-20 campaign between the Avalanche and the club's AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles. He made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 3 of Colorado's second-round series against the Dallas Stars on Aug. 26 and finished the 2020 postseason with one point (0g/1a) in five contests, recording his first career playoff point in Game 5 of the series on Aug. 31.
"Logan is a high-energy player who works hard, competes and brings grit and depth to our lineup," said Avalanche Executive Vice President / General Manager Joe Sakic. " He is a strong skater and penalty killer and has continued to improve his game every year as a professional."
In his first professional season in 2018-19, he led the AHL with five shorthanded tallies and scored 19 goals, which was tied for second on the Eagles and tied for seventh among all league rookies. He tallied his first career NHL goal on Nov. 27, 2019 against Edmonton.
Prior to turning pro, O'Connor spent three seasons at the University of Denver, where he helped the Pioneers capture the NCAA championship as a sophomore in 2016-17, appearing in all 44 games that year (7g/11a). The 6-foot, 175-pound right wing finished his college career with 43 points (16g/27a) in 108 games, winning a NCHC regular-season championship (2016-17) and tournament championship (2017-18), to go along with his national title.
O'Connor tallied 46 points (19g/27a) in 117 career games with Sioux Falls of the United States Hockey League from 2013-15, where he helped the Stampede win the Clark Cup as league champions in 2015.
