Callahan Burke Development Camp 4 on 4

DENVER - The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Cal Burke to a one-year contract through the 2021-22 season. Burke will remain with the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles.

Burke, 24, has recorded 14 points (6g/8a) in 19 games for the Eagles this season. He ranks fifth on the team in points and is tied for third in goals. Now in his second professional campaign, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound right wing has produced 23 points (8g/15a) in 52 career AHL contests, all with the Eagles. He recorded a point (0g/1a) in two postseason contests in 2021.
Prior to turning pro, Burke played four seasons with the University of Notre Dame from 2016-20, serving as an alternate captain his junior year before being named the team's captain for his senior season in 2019-20. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound center/right wing collected 88 points (36g/52a) in 146 career games with the Fighting Irish, helping the team win consecutive Big Ten championships and advance to the Frozen Four in 2017 and 2018. He tied for the team high in goals (12) as a junior and ranked second in goals (14) as a sophomore.
The Boxborough, Mass., native played two full seasons for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League from 2014-16, totaling 79 points (34g/45a) in 121 USHL contests and adding four points (3g/1a) in eight postseason contests. Burke served as captain of the RoughRiders in his final campaign in 2015-16.
