The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed defenseman Justin Barron to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Barron, 19, served as captain of the Halifax Mooseheads this season, recording 31 points (8g/23a) in 33 games to lead all Halifax defensemen in goals, assists and points. He finished tied for eighth among league blueliners in points, tied for sixth in goals and tied for seventh in assists. Barron appeared in his first World Junior Championship in 2021, helping Canada to the silver medal. He finished with two assists and a +5 rating in seven contests in his first IIHF-sanctioned event.
