A fourth-round (100th overall) selection of the Devils in the 2013 NHL Draft, Wood has collected 148 points (78g/70a) in 402 career NHL contests, all with New Jersey, and served as an alternate captain for two seasons from 2020-22. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound left wing set career highs in goals (19) and points (32) during the 2017-18 season. He also appeared in all five of New Jersey's Stanley Cup Playoff games that year, making his Stanley Cup Playoff debut on April 12, 2018 at Tampa Bay. He missed the majority of the 2021-22 campaign with a hip injury.
