Projected Lineup: Avalanche vs. Knights

The Colorado Avalanche is taking on the Vegas Golden Knights for the first time this regular season.
It is the first time the clubs have faced each other since the Avs fell to the Knights in six games in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season.
Tyson Jost took the ice for morning skate after not participating in Monday's practice and will be on a line with Sampo Ranta and Logan O'Connor.

Head coach Jared Bednar said Samuel Girard is day-to-day and will not participate in tonight's contest after a hit he sustained against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 23. Bowen Byram is expected to take his spot on the second power-play unit.
Defenseman Devon Toews skated for the first time in a regular practice jersey since the start of the season. He was cleared on Monday for controlled contact and is looking to make his season debut soon.
Colorado reassigned forward Mikhail Maltsev to the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles on Sunday and recalled defenseman Jacob MacDonald prior to morning skate, however MacDonald will not dress against the Knights.
Valeri Nichushkin remains out on a week-to-week basis with an upper-body injury. Goaltender Pavel Francouz also remains unavailable as he is still recovering from a lower-body injury sustained in a preseason contest.
Goaltender Darcy Kuemper was the first goaltender off the ice for morning skate and Bednar said he will start against the Knights.
