With the NHL 2022-23 season underway, here's this week's update revolving around Avalanche prospects from the AHL, junior, collegiate and European levels.
Here are some updates from the past week:

LEIVERMANN PACES FIGHTING IRISH WITH GOALS IN BACK-TO-BACK GAMES

Nick Leivermann, captain of 12th-ranked Notre Dame, scored in back-to-back games against Michigan State this past weekend to help the Fighting Irish capture four of the possible six points to open conference play.
The Avalanche seventh-round pick (187th overall - 2017 NHL Draft) has tallied at least one point in three of the four games he has appeared in this season. Leivermann ranks second on the team with three goals despite only playing in 50% (4-of-8) of the team's games.
The Fighting Irish travel to face off against third-ranked Minnesota in a two-game series on Nov. 4-5.

MAKAR SCORES IN THIRD-STRAIGHT GAME, NETS GAME WINNER

Taylor Makar buried the overtime game-winning goal to help the fifth-ranked the University of Massachusetts Minutemen defeat Merrimack, 3-2, to open Hockey East conference play.
The sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, has found the back of the net in three of his last four games, which includes a three-game goal streak.
Massachusetts battles 14th-ranked Providence in a home-and-home series, starting on the road on Nov. 4 and back home on Nov. 5.

FOUDY GAINS NATIONAL ATTENTION FROM BETWEEN-THE-LEGS GOAL

Jean-Luc Foudy scored a top-10 ESPN-worthy goal last Wednesday against the San Diego Gulls.
The Scarborough, Ontario native is second on the team with seven points (3G, 4A), averaging a point per game.

BUYALSKY BURIES FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL

Andrei Buyalsky netted the first goal of his collegiate career last weekend in Vermont's 2-1 win at Colgate.
Buyalsky, who the Avalanche selected 92nd overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, has played in seven games for the Catamounts this season after only skating in three contests last year due to injury.
Vermont travels for a two-game road series against 17th-ranked UMass Lowell on Nov. 4-5.
