This fitness session involved 51 elementary-aged students that were split into four groups to match the four different training exercises: agility using four cones to change directions, agility ladders, and two stations that featured pushups, situps, crabwalks and more.
"I think it's just cool to get out into the community," Meyers added. "It's kind of a flashback for me from my schooling days. It's just nice to interact with the kids and see how much fun they are having."
As the kids began to roll into the school's gymnasium, they were greeted by an Avs community staffer with TeamFIT shirts, and smiles lit up the room because we all know as a kid, nothing is cooler than getting free stuff.
Following a brief introduction by Bond regarding the regimented life of Avalanche players and keeping them in top shape, Meyers and Francouz walked through the door.
Bond continues with, "This is Ben Meyers and this is… Pav-lets just go with Frankie."
Warmups began, which included jumping jacks led by Meyers, air squats, reverse lunges and balancing on one foot before the kids dispersed to their respective stations. After each group reached and completed all four stations, the students gathered together for a brief Q&A session.
The questions were genuine as Francouz and Meyers answered away.
