A Loss in St. Louis

The Avalanche lost 3-1 to the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Sunday. Cale Makar became the third-fastest defenseman in NHL to reach 400 points with an assist on Devon Toews' goal and the first defenseman in franchise history to reach that mark. In net for Colorado, Mackenzie Blackwood made 22 saves.

How It Happened

Toews opened the scoring at 7:49 of the first period with his seventh goal of the season via a deflection on Makar's right-point wrist shot.

St. Louis' Brayden Schenn tied the game at 10:45 of the second period with a shot from the bottom of the right circle.

Colton Parayko gave the Blues a 2-1 lead at 14:13 of the middle frame with a shot from the left doorstep.

The Blues took a 3-1 lead at 19:50 of the second period via a goal from Dylan Holloway.
