The Avalanche beat the Kraken 3-2 on Tuesday to win their third-consecutive game. Joel Kiviranta registered two goals, Cale Makar posted two assists, and Justus Annunen made 25 saves.

Kiviranta opened the scoring with his second goal of the season with a wrist shot from the high slot at 18:32 of the first period.

Jared McCann tied the game for Seattle at 11:57 of the second period with a backhand shot from the low slot.

The Avalanche took a 2-1 lead at 14:55 of the middle frame when Kiviranta deflected Makar’s right-point shot at the right doorstep past Philipp Grubauer. Makar's assist earned him a spot next to John-Michael Liles as the only defensemen in franchise history to score a point in each of the season’s first seven games.

Nathan MacKinnon doubled Colorado’s lead on the power play at 19:52 of the second period with his third goal of the season with a wrist shot from the slot. With his primary assist on the goal, Makar claimed a new franchise record among defensemen with his 151st power-play point.

Seattle pulled its goalie and scored via a Ryker Evans power-play goal at 19:55, but its comeback attempt fell short and the Avalanche won 3-2.

The Avalanche conclude their three-game road trip on Thursday in Salt Lake City against Utah Hockey Club at 7 p.m. MT on Altitude Sports, 9News, My20, and streaming on Altitude+.
