Josh Anderson was selected 71st overall in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound defenseman has played the past five seasons in the Western Hockey League, totaling 35 points (nine goals, 26 assists) in 206 career games with the Prince George Cougars and Swift Current Broncos.
This past season, Anderson played in 54 games, recording seven points (one goal, six assists) in 25 outings with the Cougars before being traded to the Broncos, where he registered seven points (two goals, five assists) and a plus-8 rating in 29 games. He added two assists in 26 postseason contests as he helped Swift Current win the WHL Championship.
