ROOKIE TOURNAMENT KINGS FINAL

The Colorado Avalanche rookies beat the Los Angeles Kings on September 16th at the 2022 Rookie Camp hosted by the San Jose Sharks.

Oskar Olausson, Sampo Ranta, and Ben Meyers scored for the Avalanche, while Oliver Boutin, Tarun Fizer, Alex Beaucage, Brayden Schmitt and Cameron Wright notched 5 assists. Justus Annunen made 31 saves.
Francesco Pinelli and Taylor Ward scored for the Kings, while Kim Nousiainen, Tyler Madden, and Brandt Clarke handed out 4 assists. Jacob Ingham made 30 saves.

THE GOALS

1st Period:
11:05 LAK 1, COL 0 -Francesco Pinelli opened the scoring with an assist from Kim Nousiainen and Brandt Clarke.
14:41 COL 1, LAK 1 -Oskar Olausson tied the game after tipping in the puck shot by Oliver Boutin.
15:04 COL 2, LAK 1 - Tarun Fizer chipped the puck to Alex Beaucauge who then passed it to Sampo Ranta who quickly notched another goal for Colorado, assisted by Tarun Fizer and Alex Beaucage.
2nd Period:
10:16 LAK 2, COL 2 - Tyler Madden passed to Brandt Clarke who brought the puck down the right wing and found Taylor Ward in the slot for a one-timer past Annunen.
3rd Period:
16:07 COL 3, LAK 2 - After some time in the zone, Brayden Schmitt Took a shot from the point which was tipped by Ben Meyers into the goal.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

The Avalanche were 0-for-5 on the power play.
The Kings were 1-for-5 on the power play.

GOALTENDING BATTLE:

Justus Annunen made 31 saves on 33 shots for the Avalanche.
Jacob Ingham made 30 saves on 33 shots for the Kings.

NOTEBOOK:

Ben Meyers made his tournament debut and scored the game winning goal for the Avalanche.
