ROOKIE TOURNAMENT SHARKS FINAL

The Colorado Avalanche suffered a 5-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Sept. 17th at the 2022 Rookie Camp hosted by San Jose.

Jean-Luc Foudy notched a goal for Colorado with assists from Cameron Wright and Ben Meyers.
Tristen Robbins, Artem Guryev, Daniil Gushchin, and Montana Onyebuchi scored a total of five goals for the Sharks, while Ozzy Wiesblatt, Brandon Coe, Mark Liwiski, Samuel Mayer, Josh Lawrence, Jake Furlong, and Daniil Gishchin tallied eight assists.

THE GOALS:

1st Period:
4:56 SJS 1, COL 0 -Entering the zone, Ozzy Wiesblatt dumped the puck behind the Avalache net which was quickly retrieved by Brandon Coe, and passed in front of Tristen Robbins who chipped the puck past Miner.
6:05 SJS 2, COL 0 - Stealing the puck from the Avalanche, Mark Liwiski went for a cross crease pass that bumped off the opposite boards and to the point for Artem Guryev who quickly shot the puck through traffic for a top shelf goal.
12:13 SJS 3, COL 0 - After a stoppage by Mason Beaupit, Daniil Gushchin broke out the puck from the Sharks zone to Brandon Coe who quickly returned it to Gushchin for a five-hole shot through Miner.
2nd Period:
16:14 SJS 4, COL 0 (PP) - After a missed pass to the front of the net, Daniil Gushchin got the puck at the point and passed up to Jake Furlong and quickly dished to Tristen Robbins on the wing who fired a shot through traffic into the net.
17:00 SJS 5, COL 0 -Daniil Gushchin made a cycle pass on the boards to Josh Lawrence who fed the puck to Montana Onyebuchi who then shot the puck into the net.
3rd Period:
8:31 SJS 5, COL 1 - Jean-Luc Foudy scored Colorado's only goal with assists from Cameron Wright and Ben Meyers.
Final: SJS 5, COL 1

SPECIAL TEAMS:

The Avalanche were 1-for-10 on the power play.
The Sharks were 1-for-3 on the power play.

GOALTENDING BATTLE:

Trent Miner made 25 saves on 30 shots for the Avalanche.
Mason Beaupit made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Sharks.

Colorado will play its final game of the tournament against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday morning at 11:00 am MST.
