GAME 5: COLORADO AVALANCHE (3-1) VS ST. LOUIS BLUES (1-3)

The Colorado Avalanche return to Denver for Game 5 after taking a 3-1 series lead against the St. Louis Blues in the Second Round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m. MT at Ball Arena.


RECAP OF GAME 4:

The Colorado Avalanche secured a 6-3 victory against the Blues, pushing them to the brink of elimination.
The Blues took the lead early with a goal in the first period. It wasn't until the second period that the Avs unleashed an onslaught of goals, four unanswered. One goal was scored by Erik Johnson, one by Devon Toews and two by Nazem Kadri. St. Louis responded with two more goals of their own, making it a one-goal game by the end of the second period.
Colorado closed out Game 4 with two more goals in the third period, one coming from Mikko Rantanen and the other coming from Kadri, earning himself a hat trick. With 37 shots against 20, the Avalanche head home with a 6-3 victory, one game away from the Western Conference Finals.
In the wake of Blues goalie Jordan Binnington's injury sustained in Game 3, Ville Husso played in net, making31 saves on 36 shots. Darcy Kuemper made 17 saves on 20 shots for the Avalanche.
