The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Matthew Highmore from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Highmore has recorded a team-high 35 points (21G, 14A) in 56 games with the IceHogs this season, his first as a professional. He earned his first AHL All-Star nod, representing Rockford with the Central Division All-Stars. His 21 goals set the IceHogs AHL franchise record. That total shares ninth in the AHL this season. The 21-year-old has notched five multi-goal games, including two hat tricks. In his last five games, Highmore has recorded four points (1G, 3A).

Chicago signed Highmore as an undrafted free agent on March 2, 2017. Prior to joining Rockford, Highmore spent five seasons (2012-17) with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL where he recorded 247 points (90G, 157A) in 289 career games. He helped the Sea Dogs to the QMJHL Championship in 2016-17, leading Saint John in points (89) and assists (55).
