Just one Blackhawk was in action on Tuesday at the IIHF World Championship, and it was a forgettable outing for the Swiss side against Sweden.
KURASHEV, SWITZERLAND FALL 7-0
A winless Sweden side upset a previously undefeated Switzerland team on Tuesday, 7-0, in what was the most lopsided loss of the tournament thus far. Philipp Kurashev skated 13:25 of ice time in the loss and was a -1 rating with two shots on goal. The Swiss will have Wednesday off before looking to get back on the right foot on Thursday against Slovakia, who now lead Group A with a 3-0-0 record.
SIX RETURN TO ACTION ON WEDNESDAY
After a day off for most of the Chicago contingent, Wednesday is a return to action for six players in Riga, Latvia. Nikita Zadorov and Maxim Shalunov will face Denmark as the Russian team looks to get back in the win column following Monday's defeat to Slovakia. Lukas Reichel and Germany will face Kazakhstan with a chance to bolster their lead on the Group B standings. Plus, Canada and the trio of Brandon Hagel, Nicolas Beaudin and Brandon Pirri remain in search of their first win of the competition against Norway. GAMES MAY 26 - RUS vs. DEN - 8:15 a.m.
