The Blackhawks
agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract
with forward
Evan Barratt
on Thursday. The deal with the Blackhawks' third-round (90th overall) selection in the 2017 NHL Draft will run through the 2022-23 season and carry an AAV of $870,000.
Here are three things to know about Evan Barratt:

BIG MAN ON CAMPUS

Barratt had a storied college career at Penn State University, where he majored in Recreation Park and Tourism Management.
The 21-year-old recently completed his junior season during which he shared the team lead with 12 goals en route to scoring 34 points in 34 games.
That effort followed a strong sophomore season when Barratt had 16 goals and 27 assists while setting a Penn State single-season record by averaging 1.34 points per game. That earned him First-Team All-Big Ten honors.
In 98 career games at Penn State, Barratt had 39 goals (13 on the power play), 56 assists, 117 penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of plus-31.

HE'S NATIONWIDE

The native of Bristol, Penn., has played an active role in representing the United States in international play, including helping Team USA capture a silver medal at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. At the tournament held in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia, Barratt had one goal in seven games.
Barratt also helped the U.S. claim the gold medal at the 2017 U-18 World Junior Championship in Finland by scoring a goal and adding five assists in seven games.
Barratt played two seasons with the United States National Team Development Program in the USHL.

ALL THE JUNK

Barratt isn't afraid to reveal insights about himself - no matter how controversial.
During his time with Team USA, Barratt was
asked by NHL.com
to describe his favorite type of junk food.
"Salt and vinegar chips," Barratt said. "I don't care. I can eat a whole bag of them in one sitting."
